The Final Round of the Combat Champions League, held in Stourbridge saw Kevin Wright and Gurpal Singh fight 3 and 4 times respectively to decide which of them was to be League Champion. They both made it to the final where Kevin pulled it off with a 3-2 victory in a very close and well fought last round. A big congratulations to you both for finishing 1st and 2nd in this first year of the new league.

The Team attended the Combat Champions League at Guildford Spectrum. Nicholas Tudor won two firsts in Traditional Forms and Traditional Weapons Forms. Kevin Wright won 2nd place in the Mens Coloured belts +80Kg Semi-Contact/Points Stop after getting to the final to face our own fighter Gurpal Singh who won a great 1st place. Caroline Rimmington had a good outing winning 1st place in Womens +60kg Coloured belts Semi Contact/Points Stop. Gurjeet Singh won another 3rd place in Mens Novice Semi Contact/Points Stop +70Kg.

The Team attended the first of the new Combat Champions League in Stourbridge. Nicholas Tudor won a 2nd in Mens Coloured belts Semi Contact/Points Stop -80Kg, and two firsts in Traditional Forms and Traditional Weapons Forms. Kevin Wright won a 3rd place in the Mens Coloured belts +80Kg Semi-Contact/Points Stop. After a dissappointing first fight, Caroline Rimmington went on to pull things back a bit to go on to win 3rd place in Womens +60kg Coloured belts Semi Contact/Points Stop. Gurjeet Singh, won a 3rd place in Mens Novice Semi Contact/Points Stop +70Kg, in an unfortunate twist he fought one of our own fighters in the 3rd place fight off, Aaron Martins, who deserves a special mention for fighting so well in his first tournament.

The Team attended Judgement Day 2006 at Birmingham NEC and although the tournament was somewhat disorganised we still managed to find most catagories. Nicholas Tudor won a 2nd in Mens Coloured belts Semi Contact/Points Stop -75Kg, and 2nd in Traditional Forms. Shailesh Khodiyar won a 3rd in Mens Coloured belts Semi Contact/Points Stop -65Kg. After three well fought fights Gurpal Singh won a deserved 2nd place in the Mens Coloured belts +85Kg Semi-Contact/Points Stop. And in only his second tournament, Gurjeet Singh, won a 3rd place in Mens Novice Semi Contact/Points Stop, going out to the eventual winner in the semi finals.

The tournament season for 2006 continued well at Watford Freestyle Kickboxing. Nicholas Tudor won a 2nd in Mens Coloured belts Semi Contact/Points Stop -75Kg, and 1sts in both Traditional Forms and Traditional Weapons catagories.Caroline Rimmington won 2nd place in Womens +65kg Coloured belts Semi Contact/Points Stop and Kevin Wright won a 3rd place in the Mens Coloured belts +80Kg Semi-Contact/Points Stop. And a special mention goes to Gurjeet Singh, who won a 3rd place in Mens Novice +80Kg Semi Contact/Points Stop in his first ever tournament.

The first tournament for 2006 saw the Chun Seh Dau/Vagabond team win four trophies at the BBSI tournament in Doncaster, giving all competitors success in at least one of their catagories. Shailesh Khodiyar won a 2nd in Traditional forms. Nicholas Tudor won a 3rd in Mens Advanced Semi Contact/Points Stop -75Kg.Caroline Rimmington a well deserved 3rd place in Womens +65kg open grade Semi Contact/Points Stop and Kevin Wright won a 1st place in the Mens Novice +75Kg Semi-Contact/Points Stop. This puts all fighters in good stead for the next tournament in Watford on the 19th March.

Grandmaster is please to congratulate Disciples Simon Mitchell, Shailesh Khodiyar and Nicholas Tudor all disciples to Grandmaster Frederick Dhiman, on achieveing their Black belt first Degree.

Disciple Simon Mitchell also earned the right to the title of Sifu.

The final BSMAP tournament for 2005 saw the Chun Seh Dau/Vagabond team confirm two more Grand Championships giving an impressive total of six Grandchampionships! Shailesh Khodiyar finally won a 2nd in Traditional Chinese forms finishing 2nd overall in this catagory and then went on to win a 3rd for his fighting in Mens -70Kg Semi Contact Coloured belt. Nicholas Tudor won a 1st in Traditional Chinese Forms, 2nd in traditional Weapons forms and a 1st in Mens Semi Contact coloured belts -75Kg to win an amazing three Grand Championships in the year. Luke Dhiman won a 2nd for his fighting in Mens -70Kg Semi Contact Coloured belt to win overall and take the Grand Championship.Caroline Rimmington won her fifth Ladies Novice 1st place (Semi Contact/Points Stop) to confirm her catagory Grand Championship first year out. Gurpal Singh won 1st place in the Mens +80Kg Point Stop Coloured belts catagory narrowly missing out in his catagory. In the Men's Brown/Black belt categories, Richard Kerr took a 1st place in the Continuous -70Kg confirming his Grand Championship.

The fourth BSMAP tournament for 2005 saw four students win enough points in their catagories to confirm Grand Championships with four other catagories still open for the taking at the fifth and final round. Shailesh Khodiyar finally won a long overdue1st in Traditional Chinese forms and then went on to win a 3rd for his fighting in Mens -70Kg Semi Contact Coloured belt. Nicholas Tudor won 2nd in Traditional Chinese Forms, 1st in traditional Weapons forms and a 1st in Mens Semi Contact coloured belts -75Kg. Luke Dhiman won a 2nd for his fighting in Mens -70Kg Semi Contact Coloured belt.Caroline Rimmington won her fourth Ladies Novice 1st place (Semi Contact/Points Stop). Gurpal Singh won 3rd place in the Mens +80Kg Point Stop Coloured belts catagory. Kevin Wright won another brilliant 1st place in Mens Novice +80Kg. In the Men's Brown/Black belt categories, Richard Kerr took a 1st place in the Continuous -70Kg and a 3rd in Semi Contact -70Kg.

Nicholas Tudor won 2nd in Traditional Chinese Forms, 1st in traditional Weapons forms and a 1st in Mens Semi Contact coloured belts -75Kg. Shailesh Khodiyar won joint 3rd in Traditional Chinese forms and then went on to win a 3rd for his fighting in Mens -70Kg Semi Contact Coloured belts with Luke Dhiman winning a deserved 1st in the same catagory. Caroline Rimmington won her third Ladies Novice 1st place (Semi Contact/Points Stop) with Shital Thakrar winning joint 3rd in the same catagory. Master is pleased to announce that the candidates for re-ranking were all successful to varying degrees. Brother Oliver Townsend achieved his 2nd rank Junior Black Belt, Sister Emily Townsend was re-ranked from Junior Black Belt to 1st Rank Senior Black Belt (a School 1st) and the Sifu were re-ranked as follows: Sifu Richard Kerr: Black Belt 2nd Rank, Sifu Sam Green: Black Belt 3rd Rank, Sifu Robin Hastings: Black Belt 4th Rank.

The team had a fantastic day at Judgement Day 2005, winning 10 trophies! Nicholas Tudor won 1st in traditional Weapons forms (Brown and below) and a 3rd in Mens Semi Contact, -75kg Coloured belts. Shailesh Khodiyar won joint 3rd in Traditional forms (Brown and below) and then went on to win a 3rd for his fighting in Mens -65kg Semi Contact Coloured belts. Sifu Sam Green took two 3rd places in Traditional Chinese and Tradtional Weapons categories (Black belt). Caroline Rimmington won a convincing Ladies Novice 1st place (Semi Contact) with another great performance. Gurpal Singh won 2nd place in the Mens Novice Semi Contact catagory after five brilliant fights including a semi final against one of our own fighters; Kevin Wright who won a 3rd in Mens Novice at his first ever tournament. Richard Kerr took a 3rd in Mens Black belt -70kg Semi Contact. Vishal Davda and Luke Dhiman both get a mention for great fights although in both cases, they missed out by just 1 point in their respective catagories.

The second BSMAP tournament for 2005 our team continuing as they started. Sifu Sam Green took 1st place in Traditional Chinese and Tradtional Weapons categories. Nicholas Tudor won 2nd in Traditional Chinese Forms, 3rd in traditional Weapons forms and a 1st in Mens Semi Contact coloured belts -75Kg. Shailesh Khodiyar won joint 3rd in Traditional Chinese forms and then went on to win a 3rd for his fighting in Mens -70Kg Semi Contact Coloured belts with Luke Dhiman again having to settle for 2nd in the same catagory. Caroline Rimmington won a second Ladies Novice 1st place (Semi Contact/Points Stop) with a solid performance ending with a fight against one of our other fighters, Shital Thakrar who won 2nd. Vishal Davda won 2nd place in the Mens -75Kg Novice Semi Contact catagory and Gurpal Singh won 1st place in the Mens +80Kg Point Stop Coloured belts catagory. In the Men's Brown/Black belt categories, Richard Kerr took a deserved second 1st place in the Continuous -70Kg and a 3rd in Semi Contact -70Kg and Andrew Wanless won joint 3rd in the Veterans Semi Contact Catagory. Master Dhiman is very pleased to announce that our team performed very well at the World Championships in Cyprus. Our Forms competitors came back with four medals; in Adult Soft (Chinese) Forms, Sifu Robin Hastings won Silver Medal (2nd place), with Shailesh Khodiyar and Nicholas Tudor winning Bronze medals (joint 3rd). Nicholas also went on to win a Bronze Medal (joint 3rd) in traditional Weapons with his performance of Fatal Flute Staff form.

The first BSMAP tournament for 2005 saw many new competitors in our team. Taking 1st place in Traditional Chinese forms category, Sifu Robin Hastings performed a fantastic Five Animals form as taught to him by Sifu Marie Beeston. Our other forms competitors also started the year well with Nicholas Tudor winning 2nd and Shailesh Khodiyar and another new competitor, Everton Osbourne winning joint 3rd in Traditional Chinese forms. Sifu Andrew Wanless also started the year well winning 1st place with his Rice Flail form in the Traditional Weapons catagory.

Our Fighters also kicked off to a great start, another new team member, Caroline Rimmington won a honourable 1st place with a solid performance against three competitors in Ladies Novice with Shital Thakrar fighting twice in the same catagory to win 3rd, narrowly losing a place in the final by just 1 point. Luke Dhiman also had three great fights to miss 1st place by just 1 point and having to settle for 2nd in Mens -70Kg Semi Contact. Nicholas Tudor also did well in Semi Contact (Points Stop) Men's Coloured Belts (-75Kg) winning joint 3rd. In the Men's Brown/Black belt categories, Richard Kerr took a deserved 1st place in the continuous -70Kg.

Following the selection of many school members for the World Championships, the school held a sponsored event and raised even more than last year towards sending our competitors on their way!

Master Dhiman and the team would like to say thank you to all those who took part in the event and those who have donated money to the fund.

Sifu Sam Green received his second Double Grand Championships at the night of Champions.

Master Frederick is very proud to announce that at the WPKA European tournament held in Dundee Scotland 13th to 18th Oct 2004 the Chun Seh Dau competitors did the Kwoon proud with Sifu Sam Green winning a Gold medal in the weapons section and a Silver in Chinese forms thus becoming the European Champion as well as World Champion. Disciple Simon Mitchell won a Bronze in Chinese Forms together with Student Vishal Davda.
Both Sifu Sam and Disciple Simon Mitchell also gained registration as international Referees with Disciple Simon announced as the 4th best referee of the entire tournament.

Master Frederick Dhiman is very pleased to announce that a new class will start in Sheffield on 12th October 2004. Sifu Robin Hastings will run the new class, under Masters guidance, from Crooksmoor Community Centre in Sheffield under the name of Chun Seh Dau Sheffield.

The final BSMAP tournament for 2004 saw Sifu Sam Green re-enforce why he'd already won double Grand Championships for the 2004 season, again taking 1st place in Traditional Chinese forms category and 1st in the Traditional Weapons form category. Our other forms competitors also finished the year well with Shailesh Khodiyar winning 2nd and Nicholas Tudor winning 3rd in Traditional Chinese forms.

Nicholas Tudor also did well in Semi Contact (Points Stop) Men's Coloured Belts (-75Kg) winning joint 3rd and in the Men's Brown/Black belt categories, Richard Kerr took joint 3rd place in the continous, finishing a close second place in the league.

The penultimate BSMAP tournament saw Sifu Sam Green again taking 1st place in Traditional Chinese forms category with his demonstration of Buddha fist and 1st in the Traditional Weapons form category with the "Fatal Flute" staff form. These results mean that with one tournament to go, no-one else can beat him in the league for the year giving him a second double Grand Championship. Shailesh Khodiyar won 2nd with Pek Sil Lum, in traditional forms. Paul Kindred, one of the school students, but also a Master of Tang Soo Do, took 3rd place in the traditional Korean forms category and 3rd in the Traditional Weapons catagory

The fighters also continue to perform well. Shailesh Khodiyar fought well and got joint 3rd place in Semi Contact (Points Stop) Men's Coloured Belts (-70Kg). Nick Tudor won joint 3rd in in Semi Contact (Points Stop) Men's Coloured Belts (-75Kg). Gurpal Singh won a well fought 3rd place in Novice Semi Contact (Points Stop).

In the Men's Brown/Black belt categories. Richard Kerr took 2nd place again, making it to the final for the -70Kg Men's Light continuous category and maintaining his second place in the league.

Master is delighted to announce that Sifu Sam Green's trip to Corfu to compete with Martial Artists from 57 countries for the WPKA World Championships, has resulted in Sifu Sam winning a Gold in Adult Traditional Weapons, making him the WPKA World Champion in this catagory and also a Silver in Adult Soft forms (Chinese). Following many years of committed training and practice, Sifu Marie Beeston, Disciple to Master Frederick, completed her re-grading.

Master Frederick is very proud to announce the after many weeks of intensive preparation, Sifu Marie Beeston's final grading night was successful. Demonstrations of many forms and freestyle with many different opponents were shown by Sifu Marie Beeston. As a result of this, and the long re-grading period, Master was pleased to re-grade Sifu Beeston to Seventh Rank.

The second BSMAP tournament of the season got off to a good start with all our forms competitors finishing in the points. Sifu Sam Green again took 1st place in Traditional Chinese forms category with his demonstration of Buddha fist, with Shailesh Khodiyar, with Pek Sil Lum, and Nicholas Tudor, with Kung Line, taking joint 3rd. Paul Kindred, one of the school students, but also a Master of Tang Soo Do, took 2nd place in the traditional Korean forms category. Sifu Sam also took 1st in the Traditional Weapons form category with the "Fatal Flute" staff form.

To add to this haul of trophies(and league points!), the fighters then went on to perform very well. Emily Townsend finished 3rd in Light Continuous (Girls +160cm). Both Nicholas Tudor (-75Kg) and Shailesh Khodiyar (-70Kg) fought well and got 2nd places in Semi Contact (Points Stop) Men's Coloured Belts for their respective weight categories. Ketan Mistry finished joint 3rd in his first competition entry in the Men's Novice category and Max Ruddock got another solid 3rd in Boys Novice (-15 years).

In the Men's Brown/Black belt categories. Richard Kerr got a dubious 2nd place due to a lack of area warnings against his opponent, who just seemed to want to run off the area during the final for the -75Kg Men's Light continuous category, and Andrew Wanless won a 3rd in Men's Semi Contact (Points Stop) -80Kg.

The Schools third season of the BSMAP League got off on the right foot in the forms competition with many of our forms competitors finishing in the points. Sifu Sam Green again took 1st place in Traditional Chinese forms catagory with his demonstration of Budha fist, with Shailesh Khodiyar, performing Pek Sil Lum, taking joint 3rd. Sifu Sam also took 1st in the Traditional Weapons form catagory with the "Fatal Flute" staff form and Andrew Wanless took 3rd in Musical Weapons forms with his Rice Flail routine.

The fighters then went on to perform well. Emily Townsend finished 3rd in Light Continuous (Girls +160cm) and Max Ruddock won his first fight of the year to get throught to the semi final and eventually finished 3rd in Boys Novice (-15 years).

In the Mens Brown/Black belt catagory Andrew Wanless got a 3rd in Mens Semi Contact (Points Stop) -80Kg.

Following Sifu Sam's selection for the World Championships, the school held a sponsored event and raised over £1300 towards sending Sifu Sam on his way!

Master Dhiman and Sifu Sam would like to say thank you to all those who took part in the event and those who have donated money to the fund; particularly the Tang Soo Do (Chinese Hand Way) Sport in Desford, Leicestershire, run by Master Paul Kindred and Sabonim Karl Kindred, Next Clothing and Thomas May Accountants.

At the final round of the British Sports Martial Arts Premiership League Tournament of 2003, held at The Guildford Spectrum, Guildford, Chun Seh Dau and Vagabond competitors continued to perform well. It was confirmed that Sifu Sam Green has been selected to represent the Chun Seh Dau and the UK at the 2004 WPKA World Championships to be held in Kos in May 2004.

Helen Fincham won a fantastic 1st place in Ladies novice, which resulted in a joint second overall for the year, not bad for attending only half the tournaments! Andrew Wanless took 2nd place in Coloured Belts Semi-Contact (Point Stop) category (-80Kg), giving him joint second overall for the year. Richard "Tricky" Kerr finally won a first place for Mens Light continous (-70Kg) giving him a 3rd overall for the year. Emily Townsend won a 3rd place in Girls continuous (+160cm) giving her a solid second place overall in the league.

Although David Henderson didn't get into the top three for this tournament in soft forms, his performance over the year has resulted in a win in the Grand Championships for Soft Forms. Vagabond dominated the Novice Mens Point Stop catagory, Luke "Cool Hand" Dhiman just missed out on the Grand Championship win by just one point and finished a very close second with Nick Tudor, Andrew Wanless and Adrian Griggs taking 5th to 7th places respectively overall for the year.

Master Dhiman is proud to announce that the School had a most successful weekend at the Sports Show event; held at Earls Court, London (UK). We performed two demonstrations, the first beginning at 10 am on Saturday (5th) and the second at 3 pm on Sunday (6th). The "shows" were designed to give an insight into the School but also to be entertaining to the many non-martial artists who attended the show. Master Dhiman would like to congratulate all the performers and thank all the non-performing students involved in the weekend.

At the third and penultimate round of the British Sports Martial Arts Premiership League Tournament of 2003, held at The Guildford Spectrum, Guildford, Chun Seh Dau and Vagabond competitors continued to perform well.

The first BSMAP tournament to be recorded for broadcast on Sky, stiff competition in the Mens Novice Semi-Contact (Point Stop) category saw Luke "Cool Hand" Dhiman winning a 2nd place and again maintaining his top spot with Adrian Griggs and Nicholas Tudor taking joint 3rd. Emily Townsend fought her way to a 2nd place trophy in Girls Light Continuous (over 160cm). Andrew Wanless took 3rd place in Coloured Belts Semi-Contact (Point Stop) category (-80Kg), with Shailesh Khodiyar taking 3rd place in Coloured Belts Semi-Contact (-70Kg). The Adult Traditional Soft Forms saw the current Grand Champion, Sam Green win 1st place and David Henderson take 2nd place.

These results put "Cool Hand" Luke, David and Emily in 1st place overall in their respective catagories and with just one round remaining more of our fighters are still within striking distance for the top spots in various catagories. Good results for our competitors in the final round could also result in a trip to Greece as selections for next years WPKA (World Professional Kickboxing Association) World Championships are also being carried out while the overall placings for the year are decided.

Emily Townsend fought her way to a 3rd place trophy in Girls Light Continuous (over 160cm). David Henderson gained a 1st place in the Adult Traditional Soft Forms for his performance of Tiger Crane.

Chun Seh Dau's Team of nationally qualified Central referees, Shadow referees and Tournament Officials traveled to Perth (Edinburgh, Scotland) to assist the WKA (World Kickboxing Association) with this years national team selections at the Scottish National Championships. We all received a warm welcome from Robert Smith and Wendy Simpson, Executive Members of the WKA. Many thanks to you both and your team for your hospitality. We look forward to working with you in the future.

The end of March saw the very last InterClub Tournament take place in Egham. Richard "Tricky" Kerr won a 1st place in Coloured Belts Light Continuous (-70Kg) and a 1st place in Coloured Belts Semi-Contact (Point Stop, -70Kg), with Nick Tudor winning a 3rd place in the Novice Semi-contact (Points Stop) with Emily Townsend taking both 1st in Light Continuous and a 3rd in Semi-contact (Point Stop). David Henderson won a 2nd place with the Tiger Crane form.

At the first British Sports Martial Arts Premiership League Tournament of 2003, held at The Guildford Spectrum, Guildford, Vagabond Kickboxers did it again; the Master is very proud and congratulates the following fighters for their achievements.

Youngest Male Fighter, Luke Dhiman, Disciple to the Master, relentlessly and courageously fought his way through the Mens Novice Semi-Contact (Points Stop) to take the first place trophy with joint third places being taken by Andrew Wanless (Vagabond Assington, Suffolk) on his first ever tournament fight and Nicholas Tudor, who also took joint third place in the Mens coloured belt category (-75kg) as did Shailesh Khodiyar in the Mens coloured belt (-70kg). Youngest female fighter, Emily Townsend fought her way to a first place trophy in Girls Light Continuous (over 160cm). Helen Fincham (Vagabond Assington) fought courageously and on her first ever tournament fight came away with a second place trophy in the Ladies Novice Semi-Contact (Points Stop). David Henderson gained a Third place in the Adult Traditional Hard Forms for his performance of Tiger Crane.

Curtis Page, GBMAA Chief Referee, Tournament Coordinator and Executive member of the WKA, personally thanked all Chun Seh Dau and Vagabond Referees and Tournament Officials for their tireless efforts in ensuring that the day went smoothly and was highly successful with over 500 Martial Artists attending.

After many years of training under the guidance and instruction from Master Apparent, Sifu M. Townsend and Sifu Marie Beeston, the first male junior Black Belt was achieved by Oliver Townsend at just 11 years old.

Kicking off this seasons GBMAA Classic League AAA at Chessington, current GBMAA Grand Champion, Tricky Dicky (Richard Kerr), came away with a First Place win in light contact (continuous).

Following the success of last years tournamenting, both as competitors and officials; Chun Seh Dau's Team of nationally qualified Central referees, Shadow referees and Tournament Officials are very happy to accept an invitation to assist the WKA (World Kickboxing Association) with this years national team selections.

The event will take place over two weekends; with competitions in Manchester (16/02/03) and in Edinburgh, Scotland (13/04/03).

The School is happy to announce the successful completion of another Intensive Training Weekend run by the Sifus under the watchful supervision of Master Dhiman; who is unable to train himself due to ill health.

Master Dhiman wishes to personally thank all of the Sifus for their efforts which made the weekend such a success.

After entering the first GBMAA British Sports Martial Arts Premiership League, we are proud to announce some very good results following our first year of competition for 25 years.

Following a year of competition against many high level UK competitors including past and current World Gold medal holders Sifu Sam Green finished 1st in both Soft and Hard Traditional Forms categories.

The Chun Seh Dau sister School, Vagabond Freestyle Chinese Boxing, which is instructed by Master Dhiman on Sundays, also came away with many awards during the year. This culminated with an overall win for Richard Kerr, who won his weight category for Continuous Light Contact Fighting against such competition as Alex Cambell (of Sky One Fight School fame) and an overall win for Ed Newsinger in his points stop catagory. The awards were presented by Gary Mason, former British and European Heavy Weight Boxing Champion.
