Styles of Shaolin Kung Fu (As practiced in the Kwoon of Chun Seh Dau) The Chun Seh Dau School of Shaolin Kung Fu has many instructors who are practitioners of many styles of both Northern and Southern Shaolin Kung Fu. Some elements and basics of these styles of Shaolin Kung Fu are taught to lay a strong foundation when students join the school. As time goes on students are often taught one or more Shaolin Kung Fu style forms; the actual style form (or forms) is usually dictated by the physical, mental and spiritual abilities of the student. The learning of a Shaolin Kung Fu style form can both develop a student's existing abilities but also help them to develop an area where they may have a weakness or gap in their ability. Listed below are a selection of the styles of Kung Fu taught and practiced within the school. Dragon, Eagle, Snake, Monkey, Drunken, Tiger, Chi Kung, Chi Sao, ("Sticky Hands" Wing Chun), Pek Sil Lum Northern Shaolin Kung Fu,Wing Chun, Five Animals, Plum Flower Fist and Lung Shien, Ying Jow Pai; Eagle Claw Kung Fu (Buddha Fist), Tiger Crane, Fatal Flute Staff form. In addition to these Kung Fu styles forms, many forms of meditation are also practised and taught. All of our instructors are fully certified, licensed and insured by the Great Britain Martial Arts Association. They undergo regular assessments and updates. All of the Sifus are able to teach from novice to Black belt and receive guidance from Grandmaster, who is himself able to teach and grade from novice to Master 7th Rank. |
